About Cooks Venture

Founded in 2019 by Matt Wadiak, Cooks Venture is on a mission to build a better food system for animals, the planet. The company is based in Northwest Arkansas, where Cooks Venture breeds and raises pasture-raised heirloom chickens on 800 acres of beautiful, wooden forested farmland in the foothills of the Ozarks.

Cooks Venture places animal welfare and environmental impact at the center of their company, taking care of the land on which they farm so that the soil grows rich and continues to host a variety of nutrients and living organisms. They also work with their feed farmers to transition to regenerative systems, fighting climate change by naturally capturing carbon–and contributing to better tasting and healthier food.

Cooks Venture’s Meat Delivery Services

Cooks Venture offers build-your-own meat boxes in two sizes: Small (6 selections for $159.99) and large (12 selections for $289.99). Pricing is calculated by box size alone, meaning that customers can order whichever meat they like without worrying about whether they’re changing the total cost.

How to Order

You can order your first Cooks Venture box in as little as five minutes. Once you’re on the Cooks Venture website, select “Shop Now,” and then start building your custom meat box.

First, you’ll be asked to select between two delivery sizes: Small (6 meats for $159.99) and Large (12 meats for $289.99). Cooks Venture boxes are priced by size, not by the meat selections themselves, meaning you can select whichever meats you like without concern of the pricing rising.

Additionally, Cooks Venture meat shipments are not subscriptions, but a one-time purchase of a custom meat box (if you want to order a second time, you’ll just repeat this quick process).

Once you’ve selected your size, it’s time to choose your meats! Meats are sorted by type, and, currently, you can select a variety of beef, chicken, and pork products. In addition to what we’ve mentioned above, Cooks Venture offers chicken sausage, whole chicken, sliced beef, ground pork, and more. Each item also has a "Learn More" button which lists the ingredients, notes the average cooking time, and recommends ways to prepare or use it.

Lastly, enter your shipping and payment details: you’ll typically receive your first order within a week of payment.

Shipping and Delivery

Every Cooks Venture order ships for free, to any residence in the United States.

Cooks Venture meats arrive flash-frozen in an insulated box. Flash freezing is a process where foods are frozen quickly enough to inhibit the formation of flavor-draining ice crystals, meaning that your selected meats can arrive at your home both safely and with all of the flavor intact. Every Cooks Venture box is recyclable, and the included insulated packaging can be reused as a tote bag for groceries.

Bottom Line

Cooks Venture delivers high-quality, sustainability-sourced, and humanely-raised meats right to your door at flat prices. When customizing a meat box, customers only have to pay a flat fee for the number of meats they purchase, meaning they don’t have to skip out on their favorite meats out of fear of the prices rising. With added perks like free shipping and a 100% guarantee, Cooks Venture is a fantastic way to receive high-quality meats right to your door.
