Meal Plan Options

Green Chef gives you several options of meal plans, depending on the size of your family, your diet preferences and how many meals you intend to eat at home each week. These include:

  • Keto
Low carb, high protein meat and seafood main dishes with vegetable side dishes. Recent menu selections have included balsamic herb chicken with roasted butternut squash, butter chicken with tumeric cauliflower "rice", and smoky tilapia with remoulade sauce.
  • Fast & Fit
Ready in 25 minutes or less, these low-calorie meals are designed for an active lifestyle.
  • Mediterranean
Inpsired by the cuisine bordering the Mediterranean sea, these meals are packed with veggies, seafood, and good-for-you fats.
  • Vegetarian
These are plant-based main and side dishes. Recent menu selections have included southwest zucchini fritters with kale salad and sweet potatoes, and mushroom and kale flatbreads with truffle cream sauce and dried cranberries.
  • Vegan
These are plant-based main and side dishes, with no animal products offered. The menu focuses on veggies, plant-based proteins, and good-for-you grains.
  • Gluten Free
Gluten Free meals are healthy and delicious, but completely free of gluten or soy.

For each plan, you can choose meals for two or four people, and three or four recipes.

Meal options change each week, on Mondays. You can switch your meal plan any number of times, as long as you let Green Chef know at least seven days before your delivery date. This gives the company time to source the proper amount of ingredients from their suppliers.

Cost of the Subscription

Meal boxes with Green Chef range from $9.99 to $12.99 per serving or about $75 per box, which is in line with other, similar meal box subscription prices.  There is no minimum commitment with Green Chef. You can cancel your subscription at any time without a penalty.

Green Chef offers an introductory discount. The offer varies, but usually includes free shipping on the first box and a discount on the first and second boxes.

Standard shipping cost (after the introductory offer) is $8.99 per box.

Green Chef accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover and Diners Club as well as PayPal. (They do not accept prepaid debit cards at this time.)

How to Order

Green Chef makes it easy to order their meal boxes. You simply choose the plan you want, enter the number of people in your household and choose the number of recipes you want. Next, you fill in your contact information, choose how often you'd like your boxes (weekly or bi-weekly), pay for your subscription and choose the meals you want included in your first box.

Your boxes will come weekly or bi-weekly until you cancel your subscription. You'll get an email from Green Chef when it's time to choose your meals. If you're going to be on vacation or have other plans for dining during a particular week, you can skip your Green Chef box that week. You just need to let them know a week in advance of your shipping date. You can also pause your subscription if you're going to be out of town for an extended period of time.

Your box is shipped via one of Green Chef's trusted shipping partners and they give you a tracking number when it is shipped so you can see when the box is scheduled to arrive at your home. Boxes are delivered Monday through Saturday. You pick the day that works best for you, although not all days are available in all parts of the country.

You don't have to be home to sign for your delivery, but Green Chef recommends refrigerating necessary items the same day the box is delivered.

Unpacking the Box

Your box includes recipe cards and pre-packaged and measured ingredients for each recipe. Some of the ingredients are even chopped for you. The ingredient packages are color-coded, so you can easily find what you need for each recipe. All of the Green Chef packaging is made from recycled, reusable and/or compostable materials.

The box arrives cold with a cold pack and insulated packaging materials. Each box will include all of the ingredients you need for your designated size household to eat your chosen number of meals.
