When first opening your box, be sure to read the warnings on the top. Splendid Spoon uses packaged dry ice as an environmentally-friendly way to keep your food fresh throughout the shipping process. Dry ice can be dangerous if managed improperly. Be sure to never handle dry ice with your bare hands. To safely dispose of the remaining dry ice, leave it sitting in the box in a well-ventilated room, away from children or pets.
Now that we know how to safely handle the dry ice, let’s open the top of the box. Underneath the top flaps, you’ll find a sheet of ClimaCell recyclable insulation. The insulation is hinged, so you can simply lift up on this top layer to reveal the box’s contents below.
Finally! We’ve made it to the food. Refrigerate any meals you’re not eating immediately, and allow your meal to thaw if you’re going to start snacking from the jump.
Don’t forget to recycle the box! Everything included in the box is recyclable: the insulation, cardboard box, bottles, and bowls.
